Woodstown Pirates INC. provides youth (ages 5-14) of the Woodstown High School district the opportunity to play the great game of football and cheer.
The Pirates mission is "to prepare boys and girls for future success in football, as well as life, by teaching safe and proper fundamentals, while fostering a love for the game and stressing the quality character traits that the great sport of football demands."
Founded in 1960 as a feeder program for Woodstown High School, under the leadership of Ed Dolbow, the Pirates joined the Tri County Midget Football League (TCMFL) as a Charter member. Over 50 years later, the Organization remains a key organization in the TCMFL and teaches the Wolverine system at all age levels. The Pirates are also a participant in the USA Football "Heads Up" program, ensuring all coaches are certified and committed to a safer/better game.
Since the inception of the Pirates, the Buccaneers were added in 1970, the Renegades in 1991 and finally the Bandits were formed in 2001. Shortly after, the TCMFL changed to an age based division breakdown with unlimited weight.
In 2011, in celebration of our 50th Anniversary, all teams were renamed The Pirates. As a symbol of our unified, family culture the decision was made to make this change permanent.
The Pirate Family consists of:
Pirate Freshmen (Ages 5-7)
Pirate Sophomores(Ages 8-9)
Pirate Juniors (Ages 10-11)
Pirate Seniors (Ages 12-14)
Each Football team has a corresponding Cheer Squad
